Nexus Online Bookstore isn't your typical e-commerce site, it's a targeted digital platform built specifically for creatives, artists, and designers at the intersection of creativity and contemplation. Designed entirely in Figma, the platform curates creative & artistic literature while offering a seamless, inspiring alternative to clunky online book shopping.

Existing online bookstores treat books like generic commodities, lacking the tailored curation and intuitive navigation that creative professionals need. To solve this, I started by interviewing target participants to map out preferences and pain points. Moving from low-fidelity wireframes to test user pathways, I refined the structure through multiple iterative rounds before executing a high-fidelity Figma prototype that addresed each paint point.

Research

This project began with qualitative research to understand how creatives, artists, and designers discover and purchase books. I conducted targeted user interviews and participant profiling to uncover core pain points with existing online and in-person bookstores. From this data, I synthesized a primary user persona and mapped out comprehensive user journeys. This research phase established the strategic foundation for the platform's sitemap and information architecture, ensuring the site catered directly to a creative audience seeking both technical mastery and philosophical growth.

Deliverables

The project produced a fully realized e-commerce digital platform prototype designed entirely in Figma. Deliverables included a structured sitemap, low-fidelity wireframes used to test and eliminate navigation dead zones, low-fidelity branding and custom iconography, and a polished high-fidelity prototype. To ensure cross-platform accessibility for busy creatives on the go, the design package also included complete mobile adaptations, establishing smooth user pathways from initial browsing through checkout.

Impact

By grounding the design in direct user feedback and iterative wireframing, the resulting platform transforms a traditionally clunky e-commerce experience into a sacred, intuitive space for creative discovery. The final Figma prototype successfully eliminates user friction, optimizes content discovery, and bridges the gap between art theory and practical guidance, delivering an engaging digital home where every page turns toward a creator's evolution.

This low-fidelity wireframe was developed directly from competitor audits, user research, and mapped user journeys to establish the foundational layout and information architecture of the platform. By stripping away visual noise, this preliminary prototype allowed for targeted usability testing on key user pathways. I utilized these early layouts to evaluate navigation flow, identify potential dead zones, and optimize content structure, ensuring the interface was thoroughly tested and refined before moving into high-fidelity UI design.

These high-fidelity prototypes represent the final evolution of the platform, bringing together refined user pathways, custom branding, and curated imagery informed by our early testing. Building directly on insights gathered from the low-fidelity wireframes, every interface element was polished to eliminate friction and enhance the browsing experience. The resulting design achieves a clean, minimalist aesthetic that feels both calm and highly efficient, creating an intentional digital space where creative professionals can seamlessly discover, explore, and acquire inspiring works.

To ensure a truly seamless experience across all touchpoints, the responsive mobile adaptations were designed to maintain the same clean, intuitive navigation and calm aesthetic on smaller screens. By translating the desktop architecture into a fluid mobile layout, the platform accommodates creatives on the go without sacrificing usability or immersion. Ultimately, the Nexus Online Bookstore bridges the gap between digital efficiency and thoughtful curation, delivering a unified, cross-platform ecosystem where the modern creator can seamlessly explore, discover, and evolve.
