Oblivion: Age of Darkness is a fully realized, self-produced dark fantasy tabletop strategy and card game designed entirely from the ground up as a comprehensive multi-disciplinary undertaking. Supporting up to six players in a tactical, last-man-standing combat loop, the game draws mechanical inspiration from cultural touchstones ranging from poker to Pokémon.
Bringing this expansive project to life demanded the full spectrum of my creative expertise: spanning bespoke branding, systemic iconography, hand drawn card illustrations, functional physical game piece fabrication, and custom box packaging.

I scoured existing board and card games to analyze visual hierarchies, mechanical balance, and packaging standards, alongside studying classic dark fantasy artwork across old books, comics, and album covers. To refine both gameplay mechanics and card legibility, I conducted physical playtesting sessions with players, using their direct feedback to iterate through continuous digital and physical prototypes.
The project encompasses a complete game ecosystem featuring a custom branding system, box packaging dieline, and a game board, alongside a 45-card deck consisting of 5 copies each of the 8 common/uncommon cards and single copies of the 5 legendary cards. I brought the entire project to life by hand-assembling a fully functional physical prototype that integrates all fabricated cards, board, and packaging components.
Building Oblivion: Age of Darkness pushed my skill set beyond traditional graphic design into full-scale systems design, balance mechanics, and physical game prototyping. Managing every single touchpoint—from original dark fantasy artwork to final physical production—demonstrated the power of taking a complex, multi-layered visual concept entirely from idea to finished product.
