Revision Ed.1

Revision Ed.1

Revision Magazine (Ed. 1) represents my first hands-on exploration into print publication design, created during my time in university as a foundational prototype for Visionair's ongoing editorial series. This initial issue served as a creative playground to establish the brand's layout grid, typographic hierarchy, and overall visual rhythm. Content-wise, the magazine archives my early creative portfolio alongside dedicated feature spreads on Visionair's clothing line and a custom-designed athletic jersey.

Riverside Rental Cars isn’t your typical car rental company—it’s a Tampa-based startup run by a group of ambitious college students who are redefining what a local rental experience can be. Operating through the Turo platform, they offer travelers and locals alike a refreshing alternative: clean, reliable cars at affordable prices, with fast communication, flexible bookings, and a process that’s actually enjoyable.

The problem? Their old branding didn’t match the quality of their service. It felt generic, outdated, and lacked the professionalism needed to stand out in a competitive market. They needed a brand identity that could communicate trust, efficiency, and approachability—while still capturing the energy and ambition of a young, entrepreneurial team.

Research

I am attending my senior year studying graphic design at The University of Tampa. I have been exploring new mediums and methods of creation / design that have helped greatly in my pursuit of passion and knowledge. Ontop of my schooling, I have been prototyping a series of personal endeavors. Which in turn has required me to push my knowledge in design and workload even further!

The front cover establishes the publication's identity with a stark black-and-white composition, placing the bold serif logotype above structured geometric framing, clean informational type, and a prominent central artwork designed to draw readers inward. Opening the magazine leads into the first feature spread, which highlights my graphic design internship at All Goods Milwaukee through a dynamic layout surrounded by brand logos and expanding green geometric forms.

The final two spreads showcase contrasting sides of my early design work. The first spread highlights my submission for the Q: Journal of Undergraduate Research cover art contest, utilizing clean, publication-ready layouts to present the research-driven concept. Closing the issue, the final spread focuses on Visionair’s brand identity, featuring the design and process behind a custom-crafted athletic jersey alongside dedicated brand editorial copy.
