This package design project is a self-initiated concept for Lincoln Electric, approached with the rigor and standards of an official brand collaboration. The challenge centered on developing custom structural packaging for five distinct products: a welding helmet, angle magnet, heavy-duty gloves, paint marker, and copper spools, all designed to fit seamlessly within their established retail visual identity.
Navigating the constraints of an existing industrial branding system required balancing strict brand consistency with functional box structure. By digitally drafting custom dielines, physically fabricating each prototype, and executing professional promotional photography, the final suite achieves a production-ready polish that feels right at home in Lincoln Electric’s current lineup.

I analyzed Lincoln Electric’s existing product packaging and retail presence to identify opportunities for elevating visual appeal without losing their industrial brand identity. Through extensive initial sketching and building multiple physical and digital prototypes, I refined the structural dielines and established a design strategy built around bold red-and-black line work and sharp, structural geometry tailored for hardline industrial tools.
The project features custom packaging dielines for five distinct products—a welding helmet, angle magnet, heavy-duty gloves, paint marker, and copper spools. I developed digital product models, hand-crafted full physical packaging prototypes, and executed professional promotional photography to showcase the final line.
By approaching this self-initiated project with the rigor of an official brand collaboration, I pushed my skill set in structural dieline engineering and digital-to-physical production workflows. The resulting packaging system bridged industrial durability with refined, modern visual standards across a cohesive product family.

After analyzing Lincoln Electric's existing welding helmet packaging, it was clear that while their current layout effectively delivers technical info, it falls short on visual impact. I set out to completely redesign the box structure to balance high-density product information with a striking visual hierarchy. Using a precise interplay of signature red and black line work alongside sharp industrial geometry, the final flat dieline creates an engaging, seamless flow across every panel.

To build out the remaining four packages: the angle magnet, gloves, paint marker, and copper spools, the goal was maintaining total visual cohesion without feeling repetitive. I adapted the core geometric framing, red and black accent lines, and industrial typography to fit drastically different box proportions and dieline shapes. The result is a unified product family that feels intentional and distinct on the shelf while sharing a unmistakable brand DNA.
With the prototypes built and polished, I sourced the actual Lincoln Electric tools to photograph them within their custom packaging. Executing and editing these professional promotional shots brought the entire system to life, demonstrating how the structural design, brand graphics, and real physical products interact seamlessly in a retail environment.
